A Material That Can Be Produced with Zero CO2 Emissions During Manufacturing

Polyware utilizes the property of polyester resin, which solidifies in about 30 minutes when its two components are mixed. By blending in powdered materials such as natural stone and calcium carbonate, it produces forms with a natural weight and solid presence.

Garden Objects Transformed
Into Interior Products

In 1998, ideaco became the first in the world to commercialize an umbrella stand designed to hold umbrellas by inserting their tips. This innovation was made possible thanks to our encounter with Polyware.

Designer Ichiro Haba envisioned an umbrella stand that required enough weight to hold umbrellas upright. Up until then, products made from Polyware were limited to garden objects, such as those inspired by Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and there were virtually no everyday household items made from this material.

Creating an Eco-Friendly Lifestyle

Polyware, with its ability to provide stable weight, has expanded from umbrella stands — which require this very property — to a wide range of everyday items, including tissue boxes, stationery, and pet products. Its applications span from colorful designs to sophisticated, stone-like finishes, enriching various aspects of daily life.

By using Polyware, we hope to promote an eco-friendly and ethical lifestyle.
