Established design studio "Haba Planning Office."
1989
Founded IDEA Corporation (the company name was derived from the philosophy of Plato, the ancient Greek philosopher).
1990
Established information trading company "Contingent Inc." in New York, USA.
• Designed the "Organic-Building" in Osaka with architect Gaetano Pesce.
• Created the Fukusuke Hanes brand.
1998
Launched the "ideaco" brand.
• Debuted the umbrella stand "CUBE" as the first original product.
• Featured in NY Times and Wallpaper as an icon of Japanese minimalist design.
• "francfranc," "TOKYU HANDS," and "LOFT" began selling ideaco products.
2005
Debuted "TUBELOR," the world’s first 2-layer rubbish bin that hides polyester bags.
2007
Exhibited at Salone del Mobile, Milano, and began European marketing efforts.
2008
Exhibited "CUBE" at the TOYOTA IQ promotion salon in Paris as a minimalist design product representing Japan.
• IDEA Corporation has been supporting TOYOTA in designing car interior products since its inception.
2011—14
Exhibited at Paris Maison & Objet; established logistics base in Rotterdam.
Entered into an exclusive distribution agreement with FEB Development for the ideaco brand in Europe.
2012—15
Collaborated with NITORI on design consulting, focusing on creating a design management system.
Ichiro Haba, CEO, became the head director of the product design school at the Osaka Design Centre.
2015
Exhibited at the Chicago Housewares Show "JETRO."
"The Container Store" in the U.S. began selling ideaco products.
2019
Celebrated the 30th anniversary of IDEA Corporation.
Initiated production in Vietnam and debuted "ideaco furniture," designed to utilise gaps in living spaces.
2021
Launched the "senshu×ideaco Organic Towel" in collaboration with the Senshu production area.
